What were the tiki cocktail books recommended in this thread? I think it may have been @edinatlanta on the rec list. It’s hot as hell out and tiki drinks sound nice right now. Not sure where I’m going to put all the one-offs but that’s a problem for future me

Smuggler's Cove. It can be...exhaustive but like to get a more thorough understanding of how Tiki (at large/the drinks) and rum works you won't do any better.

Potions of the Caribbean. Jeff "Beachbum" Berry has said at his talks his tastes have changed so much since he started he writing--he thinks for the better--that he's hesitant to recommend his earlier books. In Potions he's updated many of his earlier recipes.

Minimalist Tiki might be more your thing.

Were I you, I'd go with Smuggler's first, if you want to add a second one do Minimalist Tiki. Potions only if you really want to build a library. It's a good book but I don't know if it's worth it as a first foray.

Something big and not without risk in our lives has passed the initial and biggest hurdle. Once it’s all played out I bought this for the final celebration.

I spent a sickening amount of money on bourbon today for my BIL’s wedding. He had planned on a bachelors party in KY to choose a barrel but have postponed the event until we have a proper reception. The bottles I purchased will only be consumed by a few close relatives.

There's so many breweries now i couldn't keep up if i wanted. I think 2012 was when i last was a beer geek. Anyway don't know if this brewery is good but the beer is good.

My almost total abstinence is now finished. Not back to usual Piob speed but tonight I am enjoying a good Manhattan. Two oz of the Bulliet I infused with vanilla pods and orange rind, splash of Luxardo, Antica until I liked the colour, a dash of these bitters from Arizona, Mos Moles. Heaven.
