Schlafly APA. Went on a brewery tour and had a bunch of Schlafly, a local St. Louis brewery. Solid afternoon

Last Friday night: a (two, actually) Jones' Grimace. Rye, pedro ximenez sherry, lemon, ginger. And a sprig of thyme. Something like a rye, non-tomato bloody mary. Very, very, good.

Not feeling 100%, so I mixed up a heavy pour of Blanton's Single Barrel with a splash of orange juice and a scoop of Influenza Sorbet (orange, honey, bourbon, and cayenne) from Jeni's in Columbus.

A little strange, but it's really good and it's kicking this cold's ass.

My wife and I both had looong days today, so no big dinner out (covered that Saturday), but I surprised her after work with a spread of vegetables, fruit, hummus, and a spinach dip she likes. Decided to pair it up with a bottle of Turnbull Viognier 2005. Hadn't remembered much about why I bought the wine, but I'm very glad I did. This is probably one of my favorites of the whites I've had in the past year. One of the few wines we've had lately that my wife and I both really liked.

Just had my first Orval Trappist Ale. Good looking, nice carbonation, bit of a fruity smell, nice balanced taste, dry finish. Great brew[IMG]

Sparkling wine and cough syrup. Awesome combination, after the second aperitif today I should be done.

I have a 2010 Eagle Rare 17 as well. Is it worth cracking open prior to finishing the first bottle to compare them?

Last night: Kermit Lynch's Cote du Rhone 2007. About as low key good wine as possible.
