Lately I've being on Brunello ... I believe it's one of the best red wines...

    In my limited experience, yes.

At the mo. : Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore

Gentlemen! Why fight amongst ourselves about the manliness of our malts? Should we not instead reserve our scorn and disdain for those "men" who drink Cosmopolitans? Midori Sours? Who, heaven help us, order their whiskey "on the rocks" when they order it at all!? Gentlemen: these are our enemies. Let us turn our hatred on them, and not on our amber allies.
Point taken. My wife is a big fan of Cosmopolitans - it's a very nice girly drink.

Is that Venezuelan? Also, why would you sweeten it? A 23-year old rum should have such a wonderful deep flavor on its own. JMO.

It's Guatemalan. Ron Pampero Anniversario is the Venezuelan rum you might be thinking of. The Zacapa is excellent on its own--just purely a personal personal preference to mix in about a teaspoon of simple syrup. I find it really brings out the caramel flavor I like. Also, I tend to drink it after dinner.

To whomever asked about Zaya, that is also a very good Guatemalan rum, but very, very sweet (even sweeter than the Zacapa 23 with syrup, IMO.)

I could go on all day. I sort of got into rum a while back and have amassed a bit of a collection...

    Heineken, my buddy sells it.

Does anyone read the Wall Street Journal Saturday addition. In it they have a cocktail of the week with a history of the drink and how to make it.

A couple of Saturdays ago the had a Italian drink that sounded very good. Does anyone remember the name?

Long day at work, nearly got killed crossing the street, had to park really far away from home and walk home in the rain. But at least I still have Das Boot.

I had a 2002 Carr Cabernet Sauvignon last night. It was beautiful.

    Riverwest Stein
"The rich amber color and caramel flavor of this beer are derived from the generous amount of caramel malt in our recipe, with just a dash of roasted unmalted barley for a subtle toasted flavor in the background. The sweetness, body, and mouth feel tell you that this is an all-malt beer. The finish has a balanced edge of Willamen and Casade hoppiness which cuts through the malty character, leaving a clean palate which beckons for more. Note: the terminology of "stein" refers to the appropriate drinking vessel and not to a type of beer made with hot rocks."

Christ I love DAS BOOT!!!! Hope you all enjoyed the Black Cock. It tastes awful but makes a great gag gift for friends and is dirt cheap. It's Sunday so football has me drinking my baby: [IMG] I got the glass in a promo 6-pack. Should have bought more.

Third Beefeaters martini. Gosh, I'm starting to really like these.

Sad part is that I'm watching a science special on the Education Channel about the decline of the Earth's magnetic field.

This is the real deal on the change of the planet.

    Changinging Earth into a Mars.

    Dead.

I'm waiting for the AlBot movie that solves this problem.

Grilled some salmon, so having '99 Chassagne-Montrachet La Boudriotte by Blain-Gagnard, almost tropical fruit, its really developed over the past year or so. Also, Apollinaris water to wash everything down.
