Lovely glass of 1970 Coeur de Lion Calvados (firewater for K-Federbeast.)

Noice. I pledge to try two or three Calvados this year.

    I like that Garnacha.

Me too. My wife is still on her year+ long Grenache jag. She ordered a case of The Chronique from the producer last night. Now I have to make sure there's room for another case by drinking one. [IMG]

    I had this last night:

A bit more balanced and smoother than the Las Rocas, but it's not as spicy or characterful. Paired well with Pavarotti and sunglasses. Dirt cheap, too.

Yeah, we picked up a couple bottles of that. For the money, impossible to beat. Perfect for a quick, mid-week dinner.

Buffalo Trace. Never heard of it until I read about it on Styleforum. Now it is one of my favorite bourbons.

Nice! Enjoy it, for its price range its a knockout.

I'm drinking some Macallan 10 yo Cask Strength (the old version that carried the age statement). Tons of sherry and just the faintest wisp of smoke.
