As I said in the dinner thread, the ME was a perfect pairing with my seafood pasta.
I had a shot of Glenlivet 12 last night. I don't particularly like the scotch regularly, as a shot it almost made me hurl. Had a couple ounces over ice with a bit of water and a cigar later on in the night - moderatly better.
I admit that I don't really like Glenlivet very much, but even I don't think it's so bad that it must needs be relegated to a shot. In fact I can only think of rare circumstances when a shot is ever really in order. What's the point?
Sloe gin & tonic here. Nice. Refreshing and fruity.
I have the utmost respect for Jamie Boudreau, etc and fellows like him who create cocktails from scratch. It is a very difficult business. I just tried to create a cocktail based off of the Rob Roy and it failed, although it isn't absolutely terrible.
2oz Tullamore Dew 12
1oz Vya sweet vermouth
2 dash Fee Bro's aromatic bitters
Garnish with 2 Fabbri cherries
The result is somewhat bittersweet. I think the drink could succeed with the right proportions. Maybe 1-1 and with different bitters.
Rocky Mountain IPA. First time. Not bad.
Pics to follow.
08 Peterson SB and then 06 Sharecropper PN.
Had some Sam Imperial Stout earlier. WOW. Heavy, chocolaty beer. One was more than enough.
Now, some Laphroaig 15, going to get a few more bottles of this before it disappears, its like an grown up version of the 10. I like it very much.
Kissui Japanese Vodka
