Another Boulevardier variant going in a “new” Balcones bourbon barrel. We’re calling this one Le Flaneur. Topped off with about 3/4 of a Russell’s 10yo…

I need to make some friends who like a Boulevardier as much as I do... Please tell me about Punt e Mes in a Boulevardier - I'm using Carpano Antica and the bottle is nearly empty.

I love Punt e Mes in a Boulevardier. It's an extra dimension to the bitterness and makes it a little less "bright" than some other vermouths.

Great in a Negroni too, especially in the winter.

@losrockets I like Antica in a Boulevardier too, but not when I’m finishing it in a barrel. It brings out too much of the vanilla component for my taste. I try to put in sharper/spicier flavors, then let the oak do its work.

I ordered a Pinter 3 as the deal was too good to pass up, and FYI, the deal is still in place. For $49 you get a Pinter 3 and two ingredient packs delivered. The Pinter holds 10 pints, 160 ounces, or about 1.3k gallons, so you get your first 2.6 gallons of beer included in that $49. All reviews say it produces a very good product. I selected the Hazy Jane and the Brew Roadie for my first two recipes. I'm on a subscription plan to get to packed monthly for $70 delivered. I'll pause for a month after every order as I don't drink that much beer anymore.

Head to pinter.com to catch this crazy deal.

@edinatlanta @Fueco @Jr Mouse

This would also make a crazy SS gift (no, I'm not in.)

Okay, just put down my first batch of beer with the Pinter. Here's the recipe for my first batch: https://pinter.com/collections/fresh-beer/products/brewdog-hazy-jane-remixed

It took tops 20 minutes start to finish and now it will ferment for nine days. I should be having my first pint on 12/21. It's pretty slick as it self racks itself (separates the brew from the drub) and self carbonates of course, but also uses that CO2 to pressurized the dispensing keg.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
