Repost from the past...

My first Negroni on my first day in Italy.
I had to show the maintenance guy at my hotel bar how to make one.
He was covering the bar, because the bartender had an accident and was in the hospital.

"I'd like a Negroni".............."how do you make that, sir?"

I've told this story before, but:

I was at a Sandals in the Bahama for a wedding, saw they had Campari behind the bar so I asked for a Negroni. The bartender didn't know it, so I told him the recipe. Ended up just behind the bar making it myself. He asked to try it, then brought over all the other bartenders to try it. Apparently Campari is really popular for some local drink, but they'd never heard of the Negroni, and all loved it.

Went to another one of the bars on the resort that night and the bartender shouts out "Hey, it's Negroni Guy!"

I was known as "Negroni Guy" by all the bar staff for the rest of the week.

Anybody ever hear of/try Skorpios? It’s branded as using no additive flavoring, which I perhaps stupidly take to mean additive free, but something just tastes a bit off/overly sweet when I sip.

Not bad by any means, and a totally stunning bottle, but easy choice not to replace given the cost.

Nice...

I was behind the bar too...
I was incredulous at first that a bar in Florence wouldn't know a Negroni, but the maintenance guy was Filipino, and super nice.
You guys inspired me to order the Solera aged Negroni from my hotel bar. Leave it to Singapore to get it right :nodding:

Penicillin, this time with Dalwhinnie and egg white. Like this version better. The mellower spirit lets the ginger and lemon do its job better
