If they’re down for overproof, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is solid, and more importantly, actually available most places. (Usually like $70 or so).

Barrell Seagrass is a killer rye in a similar range, also barrel proof.

My god seeing Eagle Rare 10 on a "best bottles under $100" is painful. That stuff used to be ~$20.

not sure man, I know my friend likes tequila/mezcal, bourbon/scotch. So I am thinking a bottle of mezcal now.

Yeah this is me making a hibiscus infusion (i took the probitas, steeped ginger slices and cloves in it for a day, now it's 2 days of steeping with dried hibiscus flowers). After this I'll make a hibiscus liqueur (by adding a honey/simple sugar mix to it). Then the kahiko punch is that, a passion fruit/honey syrup, a cinnamon syrup and unaged pot still rum. I'm using the smuggler's cove recipe. I've heard really great things about it, and the process of being able to make it is kind of fun. Gonna be serving it up at a halloween party on Saturday.

Speaking of Maguey Melate- Oaxaca Old Fashioned with Rosario’s Arroqueno. Had the privilege of meeting/tasting with her when I went to Oaxaca as well. Amazing stuff

New to (good) Mezcal, but love what I’ve had. @Gibonius Yeah, I hear you on Eagle Rare at that price. I too remember when it, Blanton’s and pretty much everything else was under 30. Still, for a gift it’s a decent looking bottle and drinks well. @venividivicibj Any bottles of Stagg Jr I’ve had recently were purchased by me or a buddy at random bodegas where they were asking much more. Just offer $80 cash. I’ve scored two for that and one for $100. When I’ve tasted it up against other hooch I dig, it always holds up well IMHO. Nice barrel proof whiskey for sure.
