For those in search of Suze uses… Haven’t tried myself, but sounds nice.

Franck Andoux's book is excellent. And I really enjoy that cocktail, The Yellow. I swear I was repping it a few pages ago:

And a good White Negroni is never wrong:

Excited to have found a bottle of this. Was chatting with the bartenders at our local prohibition style bar about cocktails and interesting ingredients and they gave me a pour of this. They use it as the special ingredient in a lot of their cocktails. Very interesting stuff.
Riga Balsam is great. They also make a version with currant juice, which moderates it a bit and gives it, I want to say, a prune-like quality. I was once making cocktails at a party and one person (I swear) asked me to make a cocktail that Worf from Star Trek would drink. I used the Riga Kurrant, genever, and I forget what else but it was quite good and I named it "The Blood of Your Enemies" which I thought was cute and fitting.

So far there’s only been one exception to my “anything margarita flavored, except an actual margarita” sucks rule… until today. Westbrook’s Gose was the first. CBC’s 8.5% hard seltzer is now the second.

Makers Mark Manhattan: 4 ounces of gasoline (as The Chairman would have called it), 1 ounce of Dolin Sweet Vermouth, heavy dash of Angostura and a a couple of Fabbri cherries from Bologna. Shaken and served up.

Was the broken heart even real? Was our empathy in vain?

I don't know if shaking a Manhattan is forgiveable.
