Franck Andoux's book is excellent. And I really enjoy that cocktail, The Yellow. I swear I was repping it a few pages ago:

Riga Balsam is great. They also make a version with currant juice, which moderates it a bit and gives it, I want to say, a prune-like quality. I was once making cocktails at a party and one person (I swear) asked me to make a cocktail that Worf from Star Trek would drink. I used the Riga Kurrant, genever, and I forget what else but it was quite good and I named it "The Blood of Your Enemies" which I thought was cute and fitting.View attachment 1670723
Excited to have found a bottle of this. Was chatting with the bartenders at our local prohibition style bar about cocktails and interesting ingredients and they gave me a pour of this. They use it as the special ingredient in a lot of their cocktails. Very interesting stuff.
