Listened to an article on RN ABC radio this morning about Stalins Wine Cellar, which previously belonged to Czar Nicholas. Stalin stashed the wine in Georgia during WW2 and it just went into limbo till the 1990’s. The book tells the story of how it was offered to an Australian wine seller for one million US he conservatively priced it at eight million. The wines were effectively cellared and verified by Vigneron‘s who authenticated the stock. which had bottles from 1840.
