Pick a less peaty blended scotch like Monkey Shoulder. And—I’m about to get flamed by the scotch lovers in this thread—try it in a cocktail. One of my go-to drinks is a version of a scotch old fashioned: 2 oz. scotch, 1 oz. St. Germain, 2 dashes Angostura bitters. Stir and serve over a big block of ice.Scotch is one of the few spirits I can't stomach, at all. I love bourbon, but haven't been able to develop a taste for Scotch--I thought I was going to puke the last time I had it, and it was my first drink of the evening.
