There is a certain set of food that allows you to stay buzzed as **** and not dead from not eating. Let’s list them:

1)tartare
2)charcuterie
3) cheese
4) tacos (like 2 don’t be fat)
5) all dips (skanks love dips, think guacamole)

Olives are delicious but do not belong in my martini.

One of my favorite solo nights of all time was drinking at bar boloud with a large charcuterie board in front of me. One of my least favorite mornings followed.

Virtually any omelet (except the unholy egg white kind).

A well made martini, you need vermouth, is still textural delight even warm. The oils of the lemon zest is crucial as well. And hey you get drunk of hotel martinis
Having a bit of a cold snap in Big D, thinking of test driving the Ford’s Reserve gin (navy strength!) in a martini tomorrow night.

Crispy sweetbreads. When I was in Seattle last fall, at Canon Bar (must go to,) four of us scarfed down three orders of them.

I'm making aglio e olio for dinner and will have a 2013 Stefania Chaine D'or vineyard Chard. We shall then adjourn to the patio to chill with a pitcher of martinis. I just have to decide what gin now.
