Just got in from looking at new houses and a local wine shop with some good stuff 50% off! Trying to decide between decanting:

Thinking the Peay as the PAX usually needs longer in bottle aging than Peay. Or maybe I'll cellar both of them and grab a bottle of '05 Loring pinot noir.

No matter what I pick, I still win [IMG]

Celebrating my woman's birfday: I had some Sam Adams Ale, then some Heineken, then some G&T, then some Bulleit Bourbon, then some Mint Julep, then some DNW Swampwater special, now I'm on Gin & Juice. Happy times.

I don't want to know if someone's left hand was involved in producing this. [IMG]

Havana Club rum, ginger ale, pineapple juice, and a couple of squeezed lime wedges over ice. Tasty.

Tonight I am drinking an homage; I christen it the Velvet Manhattan:

2 pt. Sweet Bourbon (I suggest Woodford)
    1 pt. Lillet Rouge
    0.375 pt. Vya Sweet Vermouth
    0.25 pt. Simple Syrup (1:1)
3 dashes bitters (I use a proprietary, but anything with a cinnamon topnote should work)

Build over ice and stir 35 seconds. Strain into a cocktail glass. Serve with two Fabbri cherries.

Sip, slightly. Languish in reminiscence. Thank God for the small but profound joys.

    Repeat.
