okay for real, they're most likely 517 repros. no idea on the year, but the bootcuts are not nearly as pronounced as 70s 517s.

I'm gonna second ron on the 517s. The 67 505 are already reproed by the SO505XXs and weren't a bootcut and the 55 501s had a fuller straight leg. The tag also looks similar to the old 517 levis "Saddlemen" jeans also. They look like a great pair of jeans.

I'll move that they are 517 repros - I would say 70's, though Brian doesn't think so. 505's are defintely not bootcut, and the 55 501's are looser, nearly baggy.

If the 505's are repro'd by SO505XX and these are S512XX, then wouldn't these be 512 repros? Is there a Levis 512 model? Of course this theory still leaves the year in question.

I think there is only a tenuous link between the samurai jean names and the model they are reproducing. you may be right though.

i would say they look like 1970's 517s as well although i don't recall 517s ever having hidden rivets or selvedge. awesome looking jeans though.

samurai doesnt even do correct repros anyways... so they could be just "inspired" by any of the jeans we have said. levis never did 19oz denim
