What are the different welts that are available? ...

It seems like every few months I see a welt mentioned that I'd never heard of before. Can someone point me to a good faq or thread that describes the major/common welts along with their advantages and disadvantages?

For example: 270, 360, Flex, Reverse, ???

Pardon my ignorance but does this mean the different welts are just marketing gimmicks? I was also curious about this after reading about stuff like storm welts, pre-stitch reverse welts, etc. and had no idea wtf they were talking about.

Oh, no. That's not where I was going at all. I would just like to try to understand the differences between the most common ones. Maybe some are more durable but bulkier? Maybe another is more appropriate in shoes that may get wet, etc.?
