I know they don't have the cachet of mechanical watches, but I'm sure there must be some pretty cool quartz watches out there that are interesting in their own right. Creative design. Useful. Beautiful. Classy looking or whimsical. Macho or understated or crazy or .... cool.

Forget about cost. What are the best and most interestingly designed quartz watches out there? A neophyte would love to know.

Pics welcomed.

I'm a fan of quartz-watch accuracy and have this quartz Omega that I find quite "cool" (but others may not!):

I also have this Junghans solar ceramic atomic that I find really "cool":

This baby stays constantly within one-half second of the correct time (it gets reset every night from the atomic clock in Colorado). Never needs setting obviously (it even changes for daylight saving time and back) and never needs battery replacement. It has a ceramic case, and is my go-to watch when I'm teaching and need to be able to clearly see the time. It's not an oversize watch and looks good when worn.

Good for you.

As with all things in life, some people get it, some don't. That being said, I'd expect the latter to be the minority in this case, considering the Ventura is an iconic design and original examples fetch really high prices on eBay.

Agreed. If I were to get a quartz watch one of these would definitely be on my list, but it would be one of the original vintage ones.

Like you said...some people get it and some don't.

I think it oozes cool.

Like that Omega too. Not flashy, but quite elegant. Thanks.
