Are welted pockets ever used for *hip* pockets on a blazer or sportcoat, or is this considered wrong?
I was thinking of this the other day-- I realize that the breast pocket typically would be welted. But, what about the hip ones, to give the jacket a slimmer, more sleek look than a flap or patch pocket (and without using a jetted pocket, which I would think would look out of place on an odd jacket)? Would it work if the welt is taller on the hip than on the breast pocket (say, one-and-one-half times as tall)?
