Yes. Pantofora d'oro (sp?), henry Beguelin, Marni, Tods, Hogan, for beginners, have all made such "sneakers". imo, however, as well as being ridiculously expensive, they are nearly uniformly ugly, though I have seen some Italian guys make them work. Every time I've seen them work, they have been worn as sneakers though, i.e. with jeans, cargo pants, cords, etc... and usually with a tee shirt or something rumpled looking. North American dudes have an unfortunate tendency to try to dress them up. I've neve rseen this work well.

I have a hankering for durable athletic shoes.
Stick with classic styles like New Balance 991, adidas Stan Smith, Nike Air Force 1, among others, and you'll get your money's worth.
