I got to thinking after reading all these threads on restaurants and food how our little place would be. What would the name be? What would the Faire be? How many meals would we serve ie Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner? How many employees? Would there be a dress code? Etc,etc,etc.......!
With so many members world wide this should be a well thought out menu.
Lets open!

Best Regards,

Gary

No dress code. It's a cafe. Everyone should feel free to come in and express themselves.

If the fare could include the Turkey Salad, toasted Everything bagel and chive cream cheese sandwich from OCR in Providence, with Meeting Street Cafe cookies... I would be in heaven. Or Providence.

So flip flops, baseball hats (on backwards, of coarse), cut offs and" Yankee Suck" t-shirts are ok.

The cafe obviously needs to have "Streetwear" and "Non-streetwear" sections.

Anyone from the Non-Streetwear section could wear whatever they wanted in the Streetwear section, of course--though, let's face it, if you're not wearing some form of raw denim, you're going to end up alone at your table in the corner--but anyone entering the Non-Streetwear section without a pocket square would obviously be asked to remove himself at once.

Would the waiters be permitted to commit the sartorial transgressions so common among American waitstaff?

Shirt and tie with no jacket
Waistcoat and slacks with no tie or jacket
Shirtsleeves rolled to the elbow
Black pants
Rubber-soled shoes

The waiters would all wear black trousers. Or would that be another forum's cafe?

And there wouldn't be any illegals working in the kitchen.

Anyone who walks in wearing a Rolex will be subject to mandatory ridicule from the on-staff watch afficionado. People wearing black of any kind will be forced to sit in the unimaginatively decorated portion of the cafe.

Oh, and pralines should be served. My sister just sent me some from NO, and boy are they delicious.
