I had a plate of grilled tuna eyeball and teppanyaki beef in a Japanese restaurant for Sunday brunch. Actually quite good- the beef was well marbled and medium rare the way I like it, and the eyeball was soft, briny and well-textured. Only problem was I think my cholesterol level shot straight up right after.

There's a vietnamese dessert that has corn added to the batter. I forgot what it was called though.

A chocolate milk shake with dill pickles. Really, really good.

how about meatloaf with a spoonful of chocolate pudding on top??

or a banana with ketchup and gochoojang (korean bean paste)??

or some M&Ms wrapped in lettuce and tomato with some shredded grilled cauliflower?

or peppermint candy canes dipped in red pho sauce in those plastic bottles??

i mean, we can go on forever with any arbitrary pairing.

Not as radical as some of these combos, but sticky rice and ice cream. It's surprisingly good and savory.

I lived in Japan for several years and was in awe of what they thought made for a good pizza. Among my favs were squid and hotdogs (together) and beef tongue.

Great country but really awful pizza.

I was in the mood for smores once, but had no marshmallows so I just ate cheese on a hershey bar and graham crackers.

And to those knocking ketchup on rice, thats how I survived my parents undying love of Chinese buffet.

I know that lots of people do it, but it seems odd to me to dip buffalo wings in ranch or any other dressing after they've already been coated with sauce.

Hot orange juice with a nip of cayenne pepper.

thats all that comes to mind now.

Chicken and Waffles, as in Roscoe's here in Los Angeles.
