I always get strange questions and requests when I sell things, and occasionally even when I buy. Figured most others do too. Post your odd ones. No names. A few of mine:

-buyer low-balled me, then asked if he could come to my house and try on a suit. also asked about the height of my mirrors, then

-different buyer asked me to take a photograph of light shining behind a pair of dark, thick denim in order to determine opacity, and

-seller offered me the option of paying via paypal, or since we lived in the same city, meeting him at the branch of his bank closest to my house, handing him a check, waiting outside while he went in and cashed the check, and then receiving the shirt and parting ways (this was all specified).

Lol.

I can't think of any horror stories off the top of my head, but for awhile I was inserting Bart Simpson trading cards into the parcels I was mailing to buyers, so it would be the first thing they found. No one ever commented, though.

Haha. I've never had anything weird happen really. Just had someone ask me to try on the jeans and take pics so he could see how it fit. Then had people ask for pictures of measurements or I asked for them. You can't always trust people on the thigh measurements on jeans.

I've only sold a couple things on here so not too many annoyances. Had a pair of April 77s I listed for $100, this guy kept PM'ing me to sell for $50 plus free shipping to Thailand or something.

Worst thing that ever happened was I bought a pair of size 12 Margi GATs and I recieved a pair of size 10 Clarks DBs with no laces and smelled like cigarettes. Had to pay $30 just to ship it back.

nothing too strange but the last 4 or 5 pm i received were from northern europe, all for the same item. it leads me to believe the scandinavian countries have shortages of jogging pants.

For this reason I've started buying cigarette-smelling Clarks DBs on the B&S. Sometimes when they arrive they turn out to be Guidi boots!

This isn't B&S, but I did get this PM from someone:

WOW

...I think I'd give my left nut, or sell my soul to the devil for your body....you just look amazing in everything!!
and also one asking me about college advice for a geology major.

haha

i've said this to nil and synthese thus far
they're basically one and the same, though right? 7 ft tall muscular visigoths. only difference is one has copious amounts of hair and the other does not.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
