I am using my Krane "Arkan" duffle in washed black leather. One really nice design feature is that the leather is extremely soft and drapey, so it looks good even when mostly empty, but has surprising volume (right now I have it stuffed with enough stuff for a 10 day trip.)

I think that the retail is about $900-1K.

Sorry for the ignorance, but what exactly is so great about these Filson bags? I bought into the SF hype and purchased a 256, but can't really tell how this bag is really that much better or nicer than any of my other bags. Am I missing something?

I think it is a combination of it being made in USA, relatively cheap, simple looking and durable that made it popular on SF.

I have an all black billy kirk day bag... same one that jkissi has and the one razele is talking about.

Is Billykirk excluded from the Revolve first-time discount? Had my eye on the BKCircus weekend bag, but it doesn't sound like they're getting it back in stock. The black/navy BK carryall bag was my next choice. With that Revolve code, the price difference will be negligible.

I like the Numero10 bags, and thought about picking one up (they sell them at Jack Straw Filaments in Seattle. My big concern was that the leather and overall construction didn't look nearly as damage-resistant as the Krane bag. And having your luggage spilling out in the middle of the airport is a traveller's nightmare (and you'll be stuck with a piece of crap that you get from the duty free.) The styling is nice though.

I just bought one of these. Medium seems like it would be good for a day or two.

Have you received it yet? How heavy is the canvas compared to a filson? I'd never heard of the brand, looks good.

I use a property of bag for short trips. It's fine, not terribly tough, though.

I just ordered it last week so I'm still waiting to receive it. I figured you can't go wrong at that price.

I actually really like this. Is it worth the 75$? Hows the quality, etc?

I used to travel a lot on business so when I went away for a weekend of fun or vacation I wanted an anti-work bag. I got this from LL Bean in the late 80's. It is canvas with leather handles and brown vinyl trim. We are heading off to a remote beach town in Mexico soon and the rule is, if it doesn't fit in this bag it doesn't go. [IMG]

I like the Jimmy Choo for H&M weekender Uncontrol has. I'd buy one if I can get it cheap, but my cheap and boring Burton backpack has all the utility I need. [IMG] Not Unc's picture
mine really hasn't aged very well, unsurprisingly haha it is real leather though, but the finish has come off in a lot of areas, the zipper got jammed in the lining and i had to cut it out haha. in its defense though, i'm really rough on it and throw it under my seat on the bus and shit. it's a good beater. i still think it's a cool bag and it gets a lot of compliments

+1. Pretty much exactly what I've been looking for trips from Vancouver-Victoria.

My current weekender is this big-ass sturdy brown leather thing I found at Goodwill, it's actually really attractive. Thrift stores are a great place to buy leather bags in general, the leather endures and it takes longer for the cuts and colors to go out of style. Plus you know it's already lasted a decade or two, and will likely hold up for a while.

I don't have anything against workwear, but goddamn those Filson bags are ugly, the texture of the canvas is awful.
