Guest at a May 20 wedding.

Wedding indoors at 3:00 p.m.
Reception outdoors from 4:30-very late
General locale is resort town on a large lake. The families are
bothl boating types.
I have no idea of what the groom is wearing, if that matters

The guests will not be dressed up: I anticipate few suits, and lots of blue blazers/trouser combos.

I have navy and grey suits (several) but I'd buy something new for this. My preference is to wear a suit, and to wear brown over black shoes. Am thinking of springing for a seersucker suit...

Expect weather in the high 70s, maybe low 80s.

Many thanks

Taupe linen suit perhaps, depending on the precise shade, with a white or icy blue shirt, tie, pocket square? Other than that I'd want to go with a light grey suit. I couldn't do seersucker at a wedding, but hey.

That's kind of what I was thinking (I have something in the ballpark of that Ben Silver) but was worried I'd be breaking some official wedding dress code but again, this is a leisure boating crew who will probably not be wearing suits.

Warm weather, resort town, boating crew.

Heck - the only sartorial rule you might break is if you actually wear socks
