I’d advise a navy fresco or dark blue sharkskin. Regardless of weight I would get it half lined so it breaths and moisture evaporates. I live in California but travel to NC often and I don’t find the summers that bad.

I would love that. I am also planning for a North Carolina wedding (mine is in October), also trying to get my suit figured out, and also at least considering using Luxire if I can get the shoulders of my jacket pattern dialed in. I am going with a navy suit, but it will probably be double-breasted.

On that note, has anyone got any experience with Abbeydale, in Charlotte? They say a lot of the right things but I can't find many good pictures of their work.

Also, probably too late for this to matter, but I have a Luxire suit in the 11oz VBC and I'm super happy with the fabric. It's not exactly cool the way a sub-10oz fresco might be, but it's comfortable in the NC summer and it drapes beautifully.
Some pictures. I think it’s a safe way to go as groom. Note that I did not adjust correctly the side adjusters of the trousers (which should have no break above shoes)… I guess I was too stressed during the dressing
