Wedding Style Dilemma - How to style

Hello everyone,

I am going to a wedding soon and the groom has asked all of us men to wear a specific bow tie to the reception.

I have no idea how to even go about styling this considering the bow tie is a bit "out there", any ideas?!

Most states in America do not allow 14-year-olds to marry; others have strict laws regarding sadistic dress codes. Apparently the regulations are more lax where you live.

Forgive me if the groom is a relative or close friend, but he’s a knucklehead of the “wackiest” and most tedious sort. Alas it is his wedding and thus your choice is to go along or simply not go.

If you go, wear the best navy suit you own. White shirt with French cuffs. Spit shined Oxford shoes. In other words make every effort to look dignified in spite of the tie and matching pocket square (may God save us all).

Bring an appropriate necktie and pocket square, substituting both after the first hour or so. (“Well that was a fun lark, wasn’t it, but I’m afraid now it’s back to my boring old self!”) Don’t drink too much.

I wouldn't even worry about "styling" this. Be a good sport and let the man have his wish. Since you will all be wearing the same tie and square, it won't reflect on you in the least. As maxalex says above, the usual dark suit, white shirt and black shoes will do just fine. But I wouldn't bother changing. It will make you look like a poor sport.
