I'm going to a wedding this month, and I'm the bride's uncle. I want to dress correctly but my wife told me, "remember honey, it's California, and California is more casual than elsewhere." Is she right?

On topic, I see no reason why a Cali wedding would be more casual than any other.

Looking good is the same everywhere. The only restriction is not looking better than the bride's father. You don't want the caterer assuming that you're picking up the bill just because you have a pocketsquare and Dad doesn't

Even if he's in khakis and a blazer, you can dress in a suit.

My fiance just bought a Monique Lhuillier.

No shoes for me for a while.
