    Hello all,

So, my wedding day is in September. The whole place is decorated in white, with black details(napkins) and green(plants).

My future wife is wearing something like this wedding dress [IMG]

And what I came is the following. Before I get to the clothes, I am 181cm, around 98kg (I am Greco-Roman wrestler, not fat) so I usually have a problem with suits as they know to be too tight in the upper back and biceps. So I will go with tailored option.I have short black hair, and a bit darker tan. Moderate Medditeranean.

Option 1. Tom Ford is our man.

No tie.(or sunglasses) Black suit, two button, white shirt, peak lapel (yes, peak..I am proud of my chest, and never feel they are broad enough [IMG])

    Option 2.

All black. Now I know this combination is frowned upon, but I pull it off quite nicely. Problem is that I am already seen in all black in some semi formal dinners,etc..Other problem is that I have to have that flower thing on my lapel, which is white and quite big...It may spoil it all.

    Option 3. Again Mr.Ford.

Three piece. One button jacket. Downside - September is as hot as August here.

Shoes - something like this.I have problems with shoes due to my foot shape..but something like these.

Watch - a must have or not?

Jewelery - I wear black and white gold bracelet on my right hand.It is a gift from my girl, so I never take it off.

Socks - have no idea what to do...

So, I hope to hear some suggestions on what to do and what not to...Would appreciate it.

What a lovely dress your fiancé will be wearing. It would be a shame to show up next to a lovely woman in a fine dress without wearing a tie.

    Also, destroy the shoes.

There is a group think mentality on this forum that black is only for funerals. They do not know what they are talking about. If anyone does a search on the Internet on what black represents, while it may represent the colour of mourning, it is also the colour of formality and elegance. This is the reason why limos and tuxes are predominately black. Marketers know this and use black to market their high end products. When you hear the term black label, what do you think of? For the rest of the SF members out there. I am not saying that other colours are inappropriate for weddings, my beef is with people who say that black is inappropriate for wedding.

Another reason why you should wear black is that based on your skin tone and hair colour, black compliments you. The black suit and your black hair will frame your face and draw attention to it, which is a good thing. Which is why the person in option two looks so good.

As for which option. My first recommendation would be non of the above. I would say a classic tux. There is a reason why it has been around for so many years. It has been perfected. Everybody looks good in a tux. But only wear it if you wear a proper, self tie, bow tie. If your aversion to neck wear is that it strangles your neck, that means that your shirt collar is too tight. By one size larger. Of the three option presented above, I would go with option number one. I find the black with the white contrast to be very elegant. A vest shows too much black. Option number two is also not bad, but I have seen very few people who can pull it off. The person in the photo has. Can you?

Shoes: Do not wear square toe shoes.

Watch: Optional. If you are going to wear one, make sure it is a dress watch, and not a sport watch.

    Socks: Black.

Jewelry: I would take it off for the day. Getting married to her shows your devotion to her.

Not mentioned: Wear a white french cuff shirt with a white pocket square.

I'd think a tux makes sense.

All these outfits are bad, and shoes are the worst part of it.
