lulz, you could use some more important problems.

dress in layers.

1) long sleeve t-shirt
2) long sleeve collared shirt
3) hoodie/sweater (find something fleece, I have a W+H Tiger Fleece cardigan .. Even in -20 I'm usually on the cusp of sweating)
4) jacket

Definitely warm enough to spend 15-20 minutes outside in -35 weather without a problem. This is usually too much for me. The long sleeve collared shirt and hoodie under a nice jacket is usually plenty for me, and I have 20-25 minute walks in -20 on a daily basis.

If all the above fit properly .. you should be warm and not have the skinny legs in puffy jacket look you dread.

Also .. don't forget a scarf, gloves, and hat.

You don't need a puffy jacket in -35. Around that temp (with windchill), I wear:

A long-sleeved T
A T-shirt
A button-down
A cardigan
A peacoat/wool overcoat

And a scarf.

Fine for up to 30 minutes outside
