I say if it looks good, do it. Unless the people you are going to be with know a lot about fashion and will judge you for making a small technical fashion error, I don't think it matters much as long as it looks good, and matches well.

brogues are fine with jeans. it's no "small technical fashion error."

Brogues can go either way. About 1 million people, maybe 1 billion, a day wear them with a suit, doesn't look weird at all. Look great with jeans, khaki's, whatever. They are technically "casual," but there are tons of balmoral brogues out there that look very formal and refined, and look fantastic with suits (although I wouldn't pair them with a tux, but who cares?).

Here is a quote made by JLibourel on styleforum a few years ago talking about brogues with a suit. I will also post a link below.

"There are those who hold that the wingtip is inherently a casual style.

However, in the USA, at least, wingtips and suits are like ham and eggs, vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup.

Your shoes are bluchers. Some would argue that because they are bluchers, they are inappropriate with suits.

Outside of forumland, nobody will give a damn.

Frankly, I think they would look fine with a suit in navy or most shades of gray."
