Wearing braces with button cuff shirts?

While I know the thing about braces not being seen, I also know that they are, just to get that whole thing out of the way up front...

Now, on to what I was pondering: Are braces with button cuff shirts inappropriate? I was thinking about this recently and realized I've never seen anyone who wore braces properly (button-on, no belt loops) also wear a button cuff shirt at the same time. Is it just that guys who prefer braces also prefer cufflinks? Or is there something somewhere suggesting that this shouldn't be done?

You can wear braces with a wife beater undershirt if you really want to. Braces are for holding ones pants up. What shirt one wears is entirely up to the individual.

I've never thought that you had to wear french cuffs with braces. As you say, the pants should be accommodated for them and not have belt loops, and it's something that should usually be done with a suit rather than on its own.
