I think wearing a band shirt to a band gig is okay, if its some other sort of non-musical artist than no..

Nobody "in-the-know" will wear the t-shirt of the band whose concert they are attending. It's much more appropriate to wear a t-shirt of a slightly more obscure band of a similar genre, thereby asserting your infinite musical wisdom.

I pretty much only wear band shirts to bed.

Mostly Van Halen shirts.

Mostly that's the only thing I'm wearing.

People always say wearing a band's t-shirt to their show makes you "that guy," and people always recommend wearing a different band's shirt or a shirt from one of the member's side projects.

Personally I don't give a damn what anyone else is wearing. I go to enjoy the music, not to stand with my arms folded, looking around for someone to sneer at.

I only wear cthe band's shirt if I'm gonna "get into" the show. That probably makes wearing the shirt worse but I like to show support if I really like a band.

I don't think it's all that bad. You won't be the only one wearing the band's shirt at the concert anyway.

Even if its a band, it makes you "that guy" - ie the crazy, unreflected fanboy who probably has a man-crush on a member.
