I would try Barney's Coop (the on in BH has more, IMO), Fred Segal (they carry different stuff, so try both), and American Rag. Keep in mind that the end of September is when Fred Segal has their big sale.

short is a relative term i suppose.....to find the perfect denim to wear every day for a year and more it's a short drive.

Yea, those and possibly the flatheads seem pretty much what i was describing. The whole skulls quality scandal on sufu has definitely made me think twice. You don't size down on those do you? I thought i remember some people doing so and others not. They seem like a more ideal fit than the SF x 5ep jeans but the whole novelty and curiosity of 5ep denim is holding me up.

No, i definately wouldn't size down on the 501xx's. I'd buy true to size, it's the thigh measurements that will get you. I'd also stick to the 6x6 if you go with the skulls.

I can't really comment on the quality aspect. I've worn mine for a little over 3 months straight and haven't had any stitching problems. I think as long as you dont do anything hardcore in them you'd be fine.
