Burgundy is a very difficult colour jacket to wear. If it's a really saturated burgundy, charcoal grey works well. Cream flannels are another option.

I would avoid mid-grey (it looks a bit front-desk with a burgundy jacket). Brown could theoretically work, but I suspect it will be hard to avoid looking the colours looking "muddy" against each other. Perhaps tan might be a better choice. If you're going the peacock route, and the burgundy has enough blue in it to veer a shade towards purple, then I can actually imagine mustard cords looking great against it, with a blue OCBD shirt, or normal ecru/cream shirt & a wool or knit tie.

I was sold this NWT pair of pants by a Styleform member for $125, a pretty decent price for Kiton. I soon discovered the possible reason for the bargin price, the color marigold seemed to be almost impossible to work with. This is the best I can do, and in my own humble opinion, it works. I think the black color and dramatic print actually subordinates the pants, so they seem almost subtle. Also tried brown and blues, but there always seemed to be a better pant option, whereas I couldn't find a better option to go with this shirt.

PT - have you considered going with some navy blue? Not to borrow from Michigan too intently, but I've seen some navy ensembles that did really well with bright yellow. I know it's not necessarily up your alley, but if you wanted to go conservative with the rest of the outfit and let the pants be the flare, you could easily do a navy v-neck over a white button up and a dark brown loafer (maybe a shell cordovan) or dark brown lace up. I know, not too terribly peacocky, but could make those pants work if that's the end goal. Admittedly, the yellow i've seen didn't have as rich of a hue, but were still very deep yellow (as if a very feint white ghosting was over the yellow). Is that confusing? I'll try to find images.

Is there a reason why we can't just have one WAYW thread?

I disagree with whoever suggested the navy route. The yellow color is far too intense and garish for that. I think you did well here, pairing it with black. I'm not sure I love the look, but you look interesting and fun to be around, and that's not half bad.

Like it, but I'm not fond of the tie clip.

exactly. i could never pull it off, but T does it well.

it seems that taking particular styles and splitting them off allows for people to talk about that style without the naysayers and group think.

not to mention that the regular WAYWRN has gone to shit.

    just my opinion.

hmmh, the collar has not enough substance for a tie, imo.

Who wants one, if one can have eight?

But erm... I don't really understand either.

The problem is rather slim volume of daily posts in each. If one would combine the best fits from each there would be one great thread.
