It's hard to make that Conrad Wu tie look bad but I also think you paired it very well. It would only look bad (to me) if it was paired with a light colored suit and took on a washed out look. Underneath navy or other shades of blue, it's money in the bank.

I've never given non-solid grenadines a serious thought until this. This tie might steal my virginity. Without me putting up a fight.

    Glad you came around.

The trick is that the stripes have to be really wide for the weave not to make them look crowded. That's the biggest problem I have with the SF "club" tie (Hober, navy with brown and powder blue stripes). Less of an issue with the smaller Fina and Piccola weaves though.

Glad you did so, sir. It looked good on you! I love striped ties. Unfortunately they're mostly blue. With blue shirts. And blue blazers.

I couldn't agree with you more. Truth to be told, I've never cared for striped ties, even lesser when it comes to grenadines. I remember the first time I placed an order on SH. I put the mentioned tie in the cart and thought hard about it. I ended up subtracting it from the order.

But Sander's tie really caught my eye. I asked myself how come. Took a look at Cappelli's website and found the following to ties http://www.patriziocappelli.it/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=2_30&products_id=1098 and http://www.patriziocappelli.it/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=2_30&products_id=1810 and came to the conclusion that the reason I liked Sander's tie must be because of the wide stripes. You confirmed it.

I'm ordering the latter Cappelli also, btw. Which in turn have me thinking about another matter: I usually use ties 3,5" or 3,75" wide. Would the wide stripes as in the case of Sander's tie or the Cappelli mentioned above give the impression of being to wide if being 3,75"? Should I stick to 3,5" in this particular case?

    That's it! I QUILT SF!
Both of my last two fits were stuck at 17 thumbs up. I only have myself to blame.

I don't think I could pull it off, but David's maroon suit is pretty badass.

I'm glad I can see it without the Austin Powers background, too, although I don't mind those to liven up a bland outfit.

Eh, who am I kidding... I could pull it off.
