Bout time someone picked up on that!
There are a few of my fits that I actually am not sure belong here, but I included anyway because
a) I mean. They are mine. So. You know. It's cool to have them here.
b) Stitchy threatened to post them if I didn't (he knew of my misgivings).
c) I thought they might provide a decent talking point. Perhaps it would be nice if a few members included might discuss what they disliked about their fits, which are at the very least good.
that batch was full of win.
both your fits are excellent. shut your pie hole.
This is by far my favorite fit of the batch:
at best its my 3rd fave. iykwim.
While the blue on top is much more saturated than it is in real life, I think it's still too saturated for the pants to really work in this outfit. [/quote] Usually with such light colored pants and a blue coat, I think it is easier to do a high contrast look with a white shirt. I think the particular blue color for the coat can make pairing pants an issue. Colors like the fresco 520 IMO look better as suits because it can be hard find matching odd pants. Also I think that blazer type odd coat combos give the opportunity to wear repp ties or club ties.
This man has a very nice suit.
I wonder voting for the best out of each batch would draw further interest and discussion.
Two more successful similar pairings. Same jacket and pants, but a more muted shirt.
And my general go to combination with that jacket in terms of pants would be these or the other two I have all but identical to them in hue.
Definitely agree about the repp ties.
Clags, I would like to venture out and try different looks. I mean, you have your look locked down and do it awesomely (if that's a word). But how about throwing some curve balls?
I disagree with that approach to growing a wardrobe. I want to [some abstract idea] and then go and build around that. If I see something I like, I'll get it. Otherwise, I won't. I've got my wardrobe pretty much where I want in terms of staples--the only things I have on my "to buy" list are a nice pair of brown woolen trousers and a fourth B&T jacket. That being said, one that should be finished sometime in mid June is pretty loud.
You just told me to shut the heck up.
May lead to But it also might lead to some very good discussion. Probably not a bad idea for people to continue pointing out which are their favorites after each batch is posted.
If you are looking for a frame work, consider looking up color theory. I like thinking of combos in terms of high-contrast vs low-contrast and cold vs warm colors.
I think this is the better of the two because there is relatively high contrast between the shirt and tie, and all the colors are in the "cold" spectrum.
For the light blue tie and white shirt pairings, I prefer to wear a suit. The contrast light blue tie on the white shirt seems to stand out better on a suit. I don't know why. Maybe an optical illusion?
