I think in both cases, I commented on the stark contrast. Pingson agreed, I think; SB said that reasonable minds can disagree.

I always feel that when the contrast is strong, it can (but need not) magnify the feet in a way that is not always attractive. There are other issues: too aggressive tapering when one's feet are US 10 and up makes one look like a duck. Having strongly contrasting shoes will only aggravate this unfortunate look.

Back in the day, I'd be happy with some good doc marten boots with strong stitching in burgandy or black, and lighter jeans more effectively brought out the stompingness of the shoes. I myself would prefer something like your point when wearing suit or SC: you want your shoes to be salient but not in your face. Beautiful shoes will naturally attract attention, especially if there is a subtle transition: no need to go punk.

That said, I don't mind the mind navy trousers and british tan shoes...sorry, maybe too GQ but I dunno, I kinda like it.

But as Butch says, reasonable minds can disagree.

I suppose tan and navy is a very American look, as it's rarely seen in Britain.

l2b - 100 likes for a fit is not a common occurrence there, though a number of fits have made it.

Might be different for jeans? A nice pair of trickers brogue boots plus some good indigo selvedge.

I don't like it. But it isn't a huge deal. A 19 thumb fit is still beneficial to the thread. Also, I think @kulata , who possesses some insanely awesome sport coats, knows how to wear them, and has the build to wear them well, can really up his game by getting some new pocket squares!

Don't know if it's the record, but I'm pleased. If there is a record, it was probably set in the last 2-3 months, when folks started using thumbs more.

I don't think I'm underrated. I think I'm underdiscussed, which may give that impression. It isn't something I mind. @Tirailleur1 once made a comment about this and chalked it up to general consistency in terms of style and direction. When Stitchy or Pingson or EFV or any number of people throw up great fits, they get quoted and discussed. Mine get a thumb and people move on. That last fit, which is probably my best, had two or three comments made about it.
