I assume that the trousers, socks, and shoes are not the traditional pairing with the top. What would the "authentic" full ensemble look like?

It would be similar to this outfit, with sandals or loafers. Strictly no-show socks, or you might offend purists... Especially in Nigeria

Wax prints (also called Ankara) are cotton cloths. In this case, I asked to make the white part of the cloth in lightweight twill, which turns it into a "city shirt" if I may say, hence the association with chinos in this case.

I had the same question, along with wondering whether that is typical office or 'business' attire?

Very office appropriate! With long sleeves and worsted wool trousers, works for business meetings/events too.

The link I shared in my last post is how many dress Fridays, holy day for the majority of people in the Sahel. It even is very acceptable for weddings, with more luxurious fabrics and dress sandals indeed.
