too many people on here into no break trousers, almost like from a thom browne lookbook
that can't be always a good thing, no?

Reductio ad absurdum only works if you're correct.

You're not.

Okay maybe not too many and not quite thom browne but there is a trend for these higher raised and wider cuff hems more so than in the general population on the street.
You can't fail to notice it. Surely it can't be the only marker of style.
Personally am not quite with the idea that you have to display your socks to all and sundry and their cat and dog, nice though those socks may well be.

If you’re using how “the general population on the street” dresses as your benchmark for how you like to dress then you’re in for a torrid time here. This place is just about the antithesis of how “the general population” dresses.

Either way, while there is a variance of style preferences by those who post pics here, most are going to be content with strides that are tailored to touch the tops of the shoes, and will aim to get a moderate break or else what was once described as a “shivering break” (ie very slight break). The further you get away from that the less love you’re gonna get. Some people prefer, and may even suit, fuller cuts and more pronounced breaks, but the example you posted the other day of sry baggy legs with double breaks and hems dragging on the floor is not remotely flattering and just looks sloppy.

You of course have the choice to ignore this well intentioned advice as much as any other that comes your way, but I’d hazard that there’s a rare consensus on this board that the best dressed fellas hem their strides in that hapoy medium between yours and Thom Browne’s.
