It's to be snowy here in NYC today, so I'm recycling my attire from yesterday's brunch for today, eschewing a tie, and adding rubber overshoes before leaving the house.

Sports jacket, trousers, shirt, and overcoat - BB
    PS - Alain Figaret
    Shoes - Alden
    Scarf - Aquascutum

Bit late to the party but this is a really good biz-caz look.

    I tend to disagree.

I think just about everyone looks better in tapered trousers. You're right that it accentuates longer feet, especially in a longer last but I think the positive outweight the negative - i.e. it's more good to look thinner than it is bad to look like you have big feet.

Tapered, sure, but there are degrees of taper, no? I know I need at least a 9" leg opening or things look funny. It's a delicate balance.

Sure but we're talking about a specific example here.

Snitches trousers look good enough there that I probbaly wouldn't bother changing the degree of taper based upon shoe size / choice.

I don't know if it's possible to make the opening wider, or that he have them tailored if it were, I only meant that on future purchases he might take the leg opening into consideration. He looks great of course, it's just something I notice more because it's a personal peeve of mine on my own trousers.

    thanks, big C.

also, big C, these "stitches" nicknames always make me smile.

lastly, i think that sometimes the taper of my pants is not ideal with my shoe/foot situation, but i agree that that is better than pants that accentuate my fatness.

Thanks, Stitchy. With the temperatures where they are, "cozy" is important - the reason for the second scarf to force my jacket collar to act as earmuffs.

Today's sweater was a recent purchase - saxony wool, and very warm and soft.

I was seduced by the 50% off price, with an additional $40 off coupon for a purchase over $175 using BB's own charge card. $685 for a sweater is a shade rich for my blood, though I am sure that Ben Silver's would be worth it.

I really wish SNS Herning didn't make the new Starks so short. I had been lusting after those for a while because I'm tall and it looked like the only cardigan that would fit me properly without being too short, but that idea went out the window when they made the new ones so much shorter.

Thanks for mentioning that. Was hunting for size M (without success) as http://tres-bien.com/brand/sns-herning/stark-cardigan-black says model is 189cm, which is on the tall side as well.
