Yeah, I lean/sit back against the chair in all my photos which has the effect of slightly shortening all my trousers a bit. Having said that, I suspect the effect is further exaggerated because the jeans have a narrower leg opening so will appear to ride a little higher compared to wider leg trousers with more material to fall forwards.
By the way, the jeans are relatively new (2nd wearing) and I prefer this cut to anything I've tried before. They're Levi 513s and it's nice to have a combination of enough room around the thighs while still being narrower around the ankle. I'm actually going to get a second pair once I source some more (you can't get them in the UK; or at least, they're not on the Levi UK online or in my local b&m stores). I took a chance on this pair from eBay, and I'm glad I did.
I'm going to keep the 511s I got a couple of months ago because they're in a more casual wash and so fill a different niche but fit-wise, the 513 is way more comfortable, and to my eye, I prefer how they look on me. Interestingly, I compared the two, one on top of the other and the difference in actual size (they're both tagged 30x30) is objectively minimal: about a quarter inch almost everywhere, except the waist is a little higher (though not massively so). And yet they feel and look quite different.
kw - pretty sure im wearing the same shirt today. non-iron?
I have Levi's 501 so the leg opening was already 8.5" which is what most of my trousers are anyway.
yup. nobd seems to me to hit the golden mean of dressing well without looking costumey. in other words, he dresses just like i would like to (except he does it so much better).
+100. Its much easier to put together a suit than a casual combination in most cases.
no, it is an ironing shirt; it says "the original polo shirt"
i have that one too !
So here is a pic of my jawnz with me self cuffing them. Tell me if that cuff looks much too large.
I'd roll it down one so you have some more stacking
Looks just about right to me, justin.
I know, Your Eminence; much appreciated. I gratuated from grammar school that month (can one graduate from grammar school?). Come to think of it, I think it was actually 1990... Look:
