Finally, someone talking some sense around here
Heres a happy medium. A few years ago I replaced black plastic Anchor buttons with metal ones. I agree with GDL that horn buttons don't look good on classic peacoats.
Save the horns for something else. Black metal seems like a good alternative.
Not a peacoat fan but I do agree with gdl, mrmax and chopped liver. Get metal buttons, maybe similar to what you had on the other peacoat.

For anchor buttons, those are quite nice, Cr. Nice buttonholes too .
