1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Not a redhead. This is me, so whatever this is.

    my no-go colors:
    - camel
    - pale ivory
    - oatmeal
    - very very light heather grey, although regular heather grey is fine
    - mustard
    - anything with a sickly yellow undertone (darn).

The color wheel tells me to wear all of the above. I ignore color wheel.

Dark and heavy shoes look dark and heavy.

Recalls pic of Nixon on the beach.

Alden addiction (per your sig) explains but does not excuse. Save them for other outfits.

With this shirt & pants, try some loafers.

It's sunny, but still cold enough for tweed!

I am way behind on following the WAYWRN thread, but maybe this thread can be my new home? I wear casual pants, semi-casual shoes, SC, pocket square 3-5 days a week, hence feeling strange posting over in the proper MC fit thread. Anyway, here is a recent fit cross-posted to the thrift/discount thread.

Beautiful fit, man. As a fellow skinny dude, this is also the sort of thing I tend to wear in the summer time (pique cotton dark polo + light trousers, loafers or sandals). The pants are fantastic, though!

I would avoid wearing quarter zips over t-shirts with orphan suit jackets on top.

Wanted to comment on the orphan jacket too. Beat me to it.

Also, don't just wear everything cool that you're thrifted all together in one mish mash outfit. It's generally not going to look very good. Stick to basics - I see this a lot with a lot of the thrift guys in the thrift thread. Orgetorix does a pretty good job of not looking terrible.

Yeah, I actually have the pants to the suit but figured I'd try to get away with it as a SC. Maybe not. To clarify, though, are you all saying that a quarter-zip + SC would be ok with a collared shirt underneath (such as a patterned button-down collar shirt), or not at all? I definitely would not wear a turtle-neck underneath (too guido), but wasn't sure what the de facto SF stance was on such things. I often see tradly guys do a quarter-zip with a navy SC and blue OCBD, but that seems so boring to me. For the record, this is my first time pairing a quarter-zip with a SC/jacket, so wanted to see what reactions it garnered.

A quarter zip is just kind of heinous under any sport coat...

Wasn't sure if it was too much blue but I somehow feel good in this combo. Thanks.

This is not what I actually wore today, because depressingly there are still 5 ft piles of snow outside and it was -15C. I just wanted to post a picture of these summer trousers, which were my latest DIY project. Maybe I'll be able to actually wear them in a couple of months.
