A few comments, pass this over if you just wanna see pictures, I just feel the MC forum is undergoing a positive chance toward a more reflexive mood:

-While the outfit wasn't some trick (i.e. I really wore this and don't find it awful) it was definitely an experiment I won't repeat as is. It has the same problem I see many MC casual, PittitheFoolyo, #spazzatura, #lookatmyMENSWEAR, Jcrew4lyf, Timelessstylenotfashunz etc. outfits have; the top is a lot dressier than the bottom so it looks like two different outfits were photo shopped together. Sure it could have been worse with the addition of a tie, a more formal collar on the dress shirt etc. but it is still visually jarring.

-It is somewhat saved by the navy sportcoat, which is slim fitting, slightly shorter and somewhat youthful/casual looking, although made of wool and relatively padded at the shoulders (let's call this the Dior Homme cut).

-I got desert/bush boots to travel in desert/bush/etc places not really to wear as an everyday shoe. I felt that to try to be MC they would be somewhat appropriate as I went for a pocketsquareguy (sp?) look (lots of blues, american casual etc.). It would still be more harmonious with say the chocolate Zegna chukkas I would have usually gone for.

-The jeans are the right length because I am anti-roll, anti-showyoursucks, anti-contrasting socks. Jeans aren't like dress pants, they look better breaking like this. If you wat to turn jeas into dress pants you are better off switching to other casual pants that are more analogous to slacks.

-The outfit could become a lot better if I replaced the jacket by a tan cotton safari jacket that would go well with the boots in mood and colour and would bring everything to a more casual level, replace the blue jeans by white jeans would make it perfect, I often wear this but with different, darker brown boots.

Dude, it wasn't bad like you're making it out to be. You don't need to explain yourself.

Oh I'm not explaining away a mistake, just presenting the pros and cons of the style and why I did it but wouldn't re-do it as is. I don't normally do that but if you look at other new MC threads this is the direction we're going here and I like it (explain choices, (self)criticism, advice other may pick on etc).

Engineered garments. Only looks good with blue jeans though.

Damnit. I figured that's what it was. I need a QR buckle for a belt project. Or a raw QR belt.

I like a roll on occasion, but agree that denim usually looks better with a break. The exception being certain shades like white which are better tailored nicely.

Looks great fuuma. I agree with SB on the PS, but other than that it's an awesome fit.
