...the chance discovery of a roll of rare French silk plush fabric has enabled London hatter James Lock to make silk top hats – albeit only 20 – for the first time in more than half a century

"we will be making the new hats only in 7⅝ and 7¾"...and will cost £4,500.

I know it's generally best to only critique a person's clothing here on SF, but I think this would look so much better if you had more muscle mass. I think a lot of the "problems" that people see with your clothing is not actually the fault of the clothing, but of your body - which is tall and skinny. The whole purpose of dressing well is to look good, and being ripped makes you look good. Now, I understand if you're an ectomorph (I am) and have a very hard time putting on muscle, or if you have a spinal problem or other defect that prevents you from lifting, or if you're just too busy with school and work (I certainly understand that), but I just thought I'd mention it to you. Personally, the more muscular I become, the happier I am with the way my clothing fits.

Good fit btw - really harmonious with your environment I think.

Preparing for my doctoral dissertation defence (white tie by custom), but 4,500 pounds - a bit over my budget, unfortunately.

Let's leave your body image out of this. Liam's fit issues are issues of fit, not body type.

FWIW I'm not offended. I'm not as scrawny as I look. Shirt was larger, I had it taken in but never sprang for the sleeves. I'm in between sizes on the pants, but I sized up and am planning to get a hem and taper. I have a lot of trouble bulking up without chunking up, so I just focus on being fit rather than spending hours every day lifting and chugging raw egg smoothies.

Liam, please, for the love of God, don't take that shit personally. Seriously. You're fine. Tall and skinny is okay.

Thanks, I don't take much personally, especially since CDHagg always seems to mean well.

On some real criticism, that art thing in Trenton was abysmal. Did you catch the taxidermied mouse nailed to a cross? Nothing says good time like vaporous iron drifting through the air!

Did not see that. Saw some stuff I liked. I think they went too family-friendly this year, from what I understand in the past it was a bit more mental. I knew a ton of people there, so I was mostly enjoying beer and beef patties with people I knew, art was a bit secondary. What times were you there? Should have come say hi!
