Seeing as people are starting to troll me now, here's the same polo in red (un-ironed):

Fits in the shoulder/waist/chest. I don't mind criticism, but your 'top doesn't fit (because you haven't pulled it down--notice how high the navy hemline was in comparison)' is just silly. Welcome to SF (I can't argue, that how one is presented in the image is all one has to go on).

Well MC Casual, any better this time? I got slightly lower rise pants. Maybe size down one in the waist? Again, my body is the way it is, just trying to make do. FWIW the are well below my natural waist..not pulled up at all.

I believe this doesn't look bad. The place your pants are sitting at looks just about right for you. I feel your pain because my body looks a lot like yours (not fat but with prominent love handles after weight loss) and there's not much one can do about it; perhaps wearing darker pants, but that's a hard thing to do when summer comes. Sizing down on the waist will only emphasize your waist to hip ratio. If there's extra material at the hips try to find something that doesn't have it, but without sizing down the waist. Maybe shirts with a more relaxed fit (specially in the chest) might help balance things out, too.

Also, despite what some people says, I believe pleated pants really help here, as long as they are not the extremely baggy type (which is unfortunately easiest to find). They add vertical lines that break up the huge space flat fronts leave.

button the top button and tell me if there isn't enough room for three fingers...

the shoulder seam may fit however it is too roomy on your chest and waist, arms at your side won't hide that.

I'm not entirely sure who wears whom, you the shirt or the shirt you ;-)

...but you're just basing that on the pic he provided for you to gauge the fit.

I'm more concerned about the thing he's hiding under it.

There's a difference between fitting well enough to be wearable and fitting well enough to be flattering.
there's also a difference between posting a fit to styleforum and just wearing a fit to walmart...

Thanks. The denim has just been washed a lot (regular A.P.C. New Standard). The cardigan is Bellerose, a Belgian brand which I'd never heard of before I got the cardigan.

Fit is bad in the chest and neck. Especially bad in the neck. See how it balloons out?
