    Your clothes fit you well.

You might want to work on your color combinations/textures. That coat is to formal to wear with denim. If you're going to pair an odd jacket with denim, think cotton, canvas, tweed or "ruff" wools.

In regard to color, you're somewhat all over the place.

I would have paired the coat you have on with a pair of slim wool black trousers or maybe even finished denim (shiny), a pink button down (top button open), the tie you have on (or a black knit tie) and a silver tie clip. Black belt and some black chukkas to dress it down further. Lose the cardigan.

Why black? I don't hate black, but there are so many colours that I'd rather choose.

For example with the green cargo pants, I would use a light blue OCBD and a navy sweater.

No particular reason other than the the fact that I think the black would be a good contrast to the antique looking green. I mean, Is navy vs. black that much of a tonal difference? I also think Orange is an excellent secondary color to green if it is used sparingly and toned down by a dark neutral. I am still learning so perhaps I am crazy to think this combo could work. I have worn black and green together successfully, or at least I thought I did. I do like your combination as well, thanks for the feedback.

Was planning on wearing a blue jacket with this, but as we drove away from the ocean it became too warm for it.

Well, black is the hardest color to pull off succesfully IMO. Even though there isn't a big difference between black and the lighter navy or dark blue, the colour in itself is much more pleasing to the eye. Black is a hard "color", and destroyes the flow of the outfit. With earth-toned clothing you can almost match whatever you would like, and it would look good. Examples:

    Green and white gingham shirt
    Brown sweater
    Green pants

    Blue and white striped shirt
    Dark green sweater
    Blue pants

Red and light blue striped shirt
    Navy sweater
    Brown pants

A more faded orange polo/shirt with a navy sweater and green cargo pants would be quite a nice combo.

NYR: Love the outfit and especially the shoes. Alden, no?

Приезжайте в гости! Прошу прощения, не уверен как вас зовут. Виталий? Почему-то кажется, что так, но не уверен. :)
