for how many years have you been 39? just kidding, turns out I'm just bad at guessing ages.
That makes two of us. Also FWIW I don't get the love-in with JP sneakers. I think a lot of people jump on this bandwagon because 1. the shoes are old and everyone knows old must = classic = good 2. they are always recommended in style books, GQ etc But the fact is with those rubber toe caps with the smiley faces they look ugly and are not flattering. There are several better choices IMO if you want to go for a classic styled sneaker, such as Stan Smiths, Gazelles, Rod Lavers ... even Chuck Taylors look better than JPs especially the all black ones where the clumsy looking toe cap is the same colour as the canvas.
what are the toe slots for?
I was well aware of the universal hatred of epaulettes around here, when I copped this, but since I have so few truly casual shirts, I figured why not give it a shot. I find the result actually pretty decent, but am interested in your opinions:
@ james_timothy look, I went outside. people gave me strange looks though :/
Now you tell me...
This is pretty good. What happens if you untuck? I have a similar shirt in white linen that is my "go to" for summer afternoon. Tucking that shirt in just never works. Kinda works here though.
Was just curious. I could tell from your posture.
Both good solid casual fits.
One of your best outfits, Mr. K ... I like the fit and the elements a lot. I wish you'd stick to more of this than your brighter chino experiments
And to those of you who said chucks are inappropriate here -- you guys are totally nuts. No offense, but within the context of that fit, chucks are the perfect shoes to wear. Dark brown suede chukkas would have been great as well.
Holdfast, those jeans look too .. neat. Get them wrinkled and worn in, and they'll be great. Did you intentionally choose a tighter outfit? I'm so used to seeing you in relaxed shirts/trousers that this was a surprise of sorts.

Only until September until I turn 40
A man who had not seen Mr. K. for a long time greeted him with the words: "You haven’t changed a bit." "Oh!" said Mr. K. and turned pale.
And the photos look great- people will take you seriously. Since people in real life are giving you looks, this begins you descent into SF-Hell.
The fit is fine- it's not my cup of tea; I think the shirt is on the tight side, I've drank the forum cool-aid on navy trousers, the mil-shirt cut and the navy trou gives you a commercial pilot vibe- but you're in the game. Like Rambo said, a solid casual fit.
Just to be clear- I'm in RRL slob mode this Saturday morning.
Hard to tell for sure given this one pic, but the shoes look too dressy
full brogue wing tips too dressy? I shined them just yesterday, maybe a little too much...
