Its not QUITE as low contrast as it looks, thats partially due to bad lighting. the vest is approximately chocolate brown, the shirt has a lot of red in it, and the scarf is a red over forest green hunter plaid.

That being said, its a lot more subdued than is normal for me too, I was a bit iffy on it. May add something obnoxious next time.

"Adventure Bound", apparently. I'd never even checked the label, I picked it up at a thrift store for chump change.... Its a ripoff on a pretty popular style, I just like it as a kicking around jacket.

Doesn't necessarily need to be obnoxious (although I'm ALL for that) but some differentiation in the color palette would definitely help.

I like the idea, but not the execution. The coat looks dreadful, the leather looks dried out and dead. Matching the scarf to the quilted vest (? better photos....) didn't work. The shirt collar is too short.

Try it again with better pieces, would be my suggestion.

Yeah, they are just some cheap cotton PRL socks, but I wanted to pull in some of the other colors in the sweater other than the blues and grays. I hear you.

I agree with Rambo. Some differentiation would be nice. I think this look might be really good without the jacket and adding a navy sportcoat maybe? I LOVE the vest... but I already have a bad name on here for having too many vests.

I promise the scarf and vest do not match in normal light. I'll post a better pic when the sun comes out... if it ever does. As for the coat, I've been thinking about oiling it for a while, I may just do that tonight...

    A) No such thing as too many vests. If you feel overburdened I'll be happy to relieve you of the excess ;)

    B) I've added a red wool knit tie. I think it adds enough color to break up the monotony without looking particularly out of place. I should probably include a cool color though, so I'm thinking when I get a decent fittin pair swapping out the tweed pants for blue jeans, or possibly a pair of burgundy cords.. Thoughts?

I think that would look great with jeans as the whole look is casual as is. And that would break up the matching issue.

I've really been trying to stay out of these little MC tiffs that have been popping up all over the place recently, but this is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen written on the internet, and I used to frequent the old bulldrek forums.

Hey Mr. Big. It's from SW&D favorite Temple of Jawnz (or ToJ), a small MTM outfit. Great if you're looking for something slim and completely free of branding. :)

Thank you. In all seriousness, pointing out something like that serves only to make you look like an ass. It's more effective to realize the mistake and argue why its wrong rather than just throwing out names of fallacies/errors whatevers.
