Careful what you wish for...
Speaking from the South here, it's not the heat that's miserable, it's the 100% humidity. Blegh. Just walking from your car to the office you feel like you're walking through a swamp.
Experienced that in Hyannis some years ago. Impossible to walk outdoors, no wonder you guys drive instead!
Hyannis, Massachusetts will have hot humid days, but not a full season of them. Alabama, on the other hand, is oppressively hot and humid for several months a year.
I can't imagine living in that, a week of it was plenty for me.
I don't do well in humidity. Guess I should complain less about our unpredictable maritime climate
For reference, 95F with 100% humidity is considered an average day in late July / August. I don't know how people lived down here before AC existed!
