dalevy, I think that would have been better without the tie.

The jacket is awesome - but agreed, no tie. Also, not a fan of the v-neck. It's like a combination of dad who doesn't care how they look-style and new school swag

Ha. Noted. Are v-necks not in? Semi-serious question. What's the difference between that and cardigan really?

V-necks are fine in the right setting. The combination of deep v neck with tie and jeans is what drives the look into dadcore territory

Speaking as an actual dad (so YMMV), I don't think the V-neck is objectionable. It's not fashionable, but nothing wrong with it.

I mean yeah, I'm a dad. If what I like is dadcore, so be it. But I probably wouldn't do something like this very often. I appreciate the feedback though.

Seemed like a good idea at the time.

Walked past a Hibiscus plant this afternoon and thought one would look good in my top buttonhole.

Apparently, from the way people were looking at me the rest of the day, I might have been one of the few people who thought it was a good idea.

Sorry I didn't wear a hat today since I could have tipped my hat to everyone who stared at me.

Buttons and deeper V are what make a cardigan tie/sportcoat-worthy IMO - same as a vest for all intensive porpoises. I've never thought a v-neck with a non-causal jacket and/or tie actually worked, even though I used to do it ;)
